The Clinic of Pediatric Nephrology and Hemodialysis at Specialized hospital for active treatment of childhood diseases “Prof. Ivan Mitev” is organizing a training course and the XII^th Meeting of the Southeastern Europe Pediatric Nephrology Working Group (SEPNWG), which will be held under the auspices of the International Pediatric Nephrology Association (IPNA) on October 16–17, 2026, at the conference center of the Hyatt Regency Sofia Hotel, Sofia.

The forum is supported by the Bulgarian Pediatric Association and the Bulgarian Society of Nephrology.

The theme of the meeting is: “Glomerulopathies – Past, Present, Future”

Glomerulopathies are among the most serious diseases in pediatric nephrology, accounting for approximately 25% of chronic kidney disease cases in childhood and often leading to the need for renal replacement therapy. Proper and timely diagnosis, along with modern therapeutic approaches, makes this topic extremely important for the education and practical training of young physicians and specialists.

The training course is suitable for residents and specialists in the following fields: Pediatric Nephrology and Hemodialysis, Pediatric Rheumatology, and Pediatrics.

The first SEPNWG meeting was held in 2001 in Istanbul, with the mission to provide children with kidney diseases in Southeastern Europe with timely and high-quality nephrological care. Today, more than two decades later, the annual meetings continue to serve as a platform for professional exchange, discussion of current issues, and the development of valuable scientific and clinical partnerships.
